After serving four years on the Walnut Creek City Council, Cindy Silva has announced that she intends to run for re-election for a second four-year term. Cindy is currently serving as Mayor Pro Tem and, if re-elected, will be next to serve as Mayor of the city.
“It has been an honor to serve as a City Councilmember this past four years,” Cindy said. “We have accomplished a lot, including the opening of the new Walnut Creek Library, preservation of additional open space lands, downtown parking improvements, and the grassroots effort of Yes for Walnut Creek to support Broadway Plaza and our economic future.”
“Of course, these are critical times and there’s still more work to do. I believe Walnut Creek needs proven, innovative leadership, and I look forward to working with my colleagues and the community to navigate these challenges.”

Silva & Rainey Elected
to City Council
On November 7, 2006, Walnut Creek voters re-elected incumbent Councilwoman Sue Rainey and elected Planning Commissioner Cindy Silva to the Walnut Creek City Council.
At their campaign celebrations, Rainey and Silva said the election results prove Walnut Creek voters are happy with the direction the city is headed.
"I think it really reflects the beliefs of the city and how positive everybody feels about Walnut Creek," Silva said. "I will be the junior member of the team and I look forward to working with them and learning as fast as I can."
